Corinna Rose and the Rusty Horse Band - Green Mountain State

-from the movie Take This Waltz

TONS of album previews on AOL spinner! ›

lots to choose from this week! happy ears :)

[♫] Fanfarlo - Rooms Filled With Light ›

[ALBUM PREVIEW via NPR First Listen] - to be released 02.28.12
With sounds similar to Arcade Fire and Efterklang, Fanfarlo surely does not disappoint.

Also check out live sessions on youtube!

Oliver Tank - Dreams

Another album from last year I recently came across by this 22-year old Sydney-based producer/musician. Folky, experimental chill music, along the lines of Bon Iver, James Blake, How to Dress Well, and the likes.

Recommended track: “I Love You”

Sister Crayon - Bellow

Apparently I’ve overlooked this Sacramento-based band for the past year, but I’ve easily played their album a few times already.

Recommended track: “Souls of Gold”

Tennis - Young & Old

Absolutely loved "Deep in the Woods" last year, so I was happy to hear this Denver-based duo released a new 60s beach-y type of album.

Princeton - Remembrance of Things to Come

I’m still in the middle of listening to this album. I just wanted to comment how 4 strategically placed, colored, rectangular blocks easily makes an album cover.

Recommended track: “Andre”

Young Empires - Wake All My Youth

Sentimental dance music…like mixing The Foals and Friendly Fires together, but in a Toronto, Canada-sort of way :)

Recommended track: “White Doves”

Silver Swans - Anyone’s Ghost (The National Cover) [download]

I’ve been watching one of ABC’s new television series, Revenge, and heard this interesting cover by a San Francisco dream pop duo. Thought I’d share :)

p.s. Pan Am is good too!

The Antlers - Putting The Dog To Sleep

The Antlers - Putting the Dog to Sleep

So much raw emotion in this song. A true crooner ballad about forgiving but not forgetting.

Phantogram - new songs

one of many highlights from outside lands was hearing new tracks from phantogram. new EP expected in september, i believe.

"16 Years"

"Don’t move"

Zee Avi - Concrete Wall

Zee Avi - Concrete Walls

Really digging Zee Avi’s sophomore album. A good of mix of upbeat and chill tracks with unique elements here and there. Currently on spinner and kcrw

"Boom sha clack clack"

Givers - Atlantic

Givers - Atlantic

i love love love this track. period.

if you plan on being in socal in august, don’t miss out on what sounds like an awesome dance party, literally…lots of great remixing artists! c’mon, fred falke, the twelves…*sigh*. don’t forget to check out the festival’s playlist too.

too bad i can’t be in two places at once! instead, i’ll be taking a stroll through golden gate park. but it looks like phantogram and toro y moi will be doing double duty!

it’s a official….i’m going!!! :)

i have attended absolutely ZERO concerts in 2011. it’s time to make up for lost time!
