Kings of Convenience - I Don’t Know What I Can Save You From (Royksopp Remix)

Initially heard the remix above off FridayMixtape.com, which reminded of the track of theirs I like below.
Kings of Convenience - I’d Rather Dance With You
Boy In Static - Starlet (Freezepop remix) (via) [download]
I’m a bit lazy to type a cohesive paragraph, so here are my notes as to how I got to this post.
1. Balmorhea released a remix album at the beginning of the month. See muxtape. The single released off the album is a remix of “Truth” by Helios.
2. Helios is a project by Keith Kenniff. In addition, he has another music project with his wife, Hollie, called Mint Julep. Recommended track, “To the Sea”.
3. Hollie sang guest vocals on Boy in Static’s “Toy Baby Grand“
4. I like this song below by Boy in Static, which is a bit more fitting these days now that I’m a bit closer to SF.
Olafur Arnalds - Ljosio [video] (via)
Gorgeous fan video by Esteban Diácono, an Argentinian motion graphics designer, that enhances an already beautiful and delicate composition by Olafur Arnalds. It’s full of life and bursting with color and contemplative quotes.

Tallest Trees is a psychedelic experimental pop band from Nashville, TN that creates sweeping soundscapes over pop structured songs with instantly memorable melodies using instrumentation including samplers, guitars, keyboards, drums, and more. It’s members are Thomas “Trees” Samuel and Dabney “Voice” Morris. They are currently touring in support of their highly anticipated, forth-coming, yet untitled album.
If you enjoy Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, and the likes…this is a nice addition to the collection. Trust me, create a playlist, and you’ll see.

Apologies for the flood of posts. Just trying to catch up on a few month’s worth of things, so ignore what you already know.
Savoir Adore - The Garden (via RCRD LBL)
While I find most of their material mediocre (not sure if it’s the quality of the recordings or the songs themselves), this Brooklyn-based band does have moments where they do shine.

Aside from “The Garden”, another track worth checking out off In The Wooded Forest is “Wonderlake”.
Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse - Just War (Feat. Gruff Rhys)

If you haven’t listened to Dark Night of the Soul yet, I highly recommend that you do. Depending on your musical preference, there will be songs you absolutely love and songs you absolutely won’t. The ones in bold are my personal faves off the album.

1. Revenge (featuring The Flaming Lips)
2. Just War (featuring Gruff Rhys)
3. Jaykub (featuring Jason Lytle)
4. Little Girl (featuring Julian Casablancas)
5. Angel’s Harp (featuring Frank Black)
6. Pain (featuring Iggy Pop)

Paolo Nutini - Growing Up Beside You
Paolo Nutini’s sophomore album, Sunny Side Up, is more folky and well…is just different from his more poppy mainstream debut album, and probably not for everyone who liked These Streets. If you can get pass his Scottish accented slurrings, this is, I think, the highlight of the album.
Julie Peel - Living in a Movie

‘Living in a Movie” is the opening track to this French Canadian’s full length debut album, Near the Sun, and it’s just a nice light-hearted catchy track to listen to. I give credit to thesixtyone on this one for introducing me to her.
Allie Moss - Corner (via Aurgasm)
Huh, always thought she was Ingrid Michaelson’s sidekick or something. Anyway, this track shows that she can definitely stand on her own.
Short and sweet, plus handclaps always help :)
